Life is complex even as we try to tell ourselves things are simple. And while most of us experience similar struggles and challenges, we don’t always recognize the camaraderie we have in the making of a meaningful life. In answer to these challenges, some folks seek therapy, and a therapist is a great resource to have. Some folks, however, are looking for something more organic and flexible. For those who would like a companion on the journey with whom they can explore instead of assess and amend, I am an excellent fit. I am not here to “fix” anything; rather, I am here to assist you in crafting a way through the challenges every life will entail.
My education is as an anthropologist and a minister, and my work background is as an educator and a priest. I have formal training in identity formation, appreciative inquiry, advocacy, trauma-informed care, narrative approaches, hospice, chaplaincy, spiritual direction, and pastoral care. My roles as professor and religious leader have given me opportunities to use all of these trainings as well as giving me experience with diverse populations and concerns. I have worked with individuals exploring their sexual and gender identities, I have worked with individuals looking for a career change, and I have worked with most things in between.
My approaches weave together seemingly different perspectives in order to find harmony in the complexity of real life. I am just as interested in cutting-edge happiness research as I am in ancient wisdom traditions, and I am intentionally interfaith, intergeneration, and intercultural in my wayfinding.
And I love to answer questions as much as I love to ask them! Send me yours.
